The Spikes never got anything going offensively, striking out nine times, and getting just one walk and three hits.

Fourth rounder Austin Gomber wasn't particularly impressive either, after posting consecutive scoreless 7-inning starts in his previous two efforts.

Scanio, a 16th round pick fared pretty well, as did Alexander, a teammate of Gomber's at Florida Atlantic.

No word on the starters yet, but Tri-City will host the State College Spikes in the championship series finale at 6 PM CT.
