Ouch. The Redbirds managed just six total bases on five hits, and never managed to draw a free pass. They went down on strikes 11 times. Aaron Brooks piled up 10 Ks in 8 innings, and Tim Collins added another in the 9th.

Another shutout, and strikingly similar to the first. Collectively the Spikes went down on strikes 10 times with no walks and picking up just 6 hits for 8 total bases.
Johnson City beat Danville 2 - 1
- Casey Turgeon (2B), 2 for 4, K, R
- Oscar Mercado (SS), 2 for 4, K, R, SB
- Blake Drake (RF), 0 for 4, K
- Casey Grayson (1B), 1 for 3, 2B, 2 RBI
- Magneuris Sierra (CF), 0 for 4
- Chris Rivera (3B), 1 for 4, 2B
- Jose Godoy (C), 0 for 3, BB
- Juan Perez, 6.0 IP, 10 Ks, 3 BBs, H, ER
- Kender Villegas, 3.0 IP, 5 Ks
Notes:
Godoy's walk was the only one in the Cardinals minor leagues on the day.
Mercado is now on a 7-game hitting streak, with 12 hits in that span. In four playoff games he has 7 hits, a walk, and 3 stolen bases. It's nice to see, but I think we'll mostly remember the .224/.303/.306 line from the regular season.
