St. Louis Cardinals Prospects Report: Aledmys Diaz and Corey Littrell debut for Palm Beach

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Springfield beat Frisco 12 - 7

  • Charlie Tilson (CF), 2 for 6, K, R, 3 RBI
  • Mike O'Neill (LF), 1 for 5, 2B, BB, 2 Ks, RBI
  • Cody Stanley (C), 2 for 6, 2B, K, 2 Runs
  • Breyvic Valera (2B), 4 for 6, 3 Runs
  • Rafael Ortega (RF), 1 for 2, 2 BBs, 2 Runs, RBI, Fielding Error
  • Alex Mejia (SS), 2 for 2, 3B, R, 3 RBI, HBP, Throwing Error
  • Jonathan Cornelius, 5.0 IP, 11 Ks, 2 BBs, 6 Hits, 3 HR, 6 Runs, 5 ER
  • Mitch Harris, 2.0 IP, K, 2 BBs, 2 Hits, HR, ER
Notes:

Alex Mejia was pinch run for after his single in the fourth, by Patrick Wisdom. Wisdom took over at third and Matt Williams shifted to short. My assumption is that this was an injury of some kind.

Palm Beach lost to Charlotte 1 - 6

  • Aledmys Diaz (DH), 1 for 5, 2 Ks
  • Luke Voit (1B), 1 for 4, BB, K, R
  • Anthony Garcia (LF), 1 for 2, 2 BBs, Outfield Assist (runner out at home)
  • Corey Littrell, 7.0 IP, 6 Ks, BB, 8 Hits, 5 Runs, 3 ER, HR
Notes:

Two interesting Palm Beach debuts last night, as Aledmys Diaz makes his way back from his aggravated injury, and Littrell makes his debut after coming over from the Boston organization. Mixed results for Litrell, as his K:BB ratio was excellent, but he got slammed around a bit for 5 runs in 7 IP.

Former 1st Overall Pick Tim Beckham started for Charlotte as he makes his way back from an injury (this was his 7th game on the season, and the first outside the GCL).

Peoria loses to Kane County 2 - 4

  • Vaughn Bryan (DH), 0 for 4, K
  • C.J. McElroy (CF), 2 for 3, K, R
  • Juan Herrera (SS), 1 for 4, 2 Ks
  • Carson Kelly (C), 0 for 3, BB, K, R, RBI
  • Ronald Castillo (RF), 2 for 4, 2B, K
  • Rowan Wick (LF), 0 for 4, 3 Ks, Outfield Assist (runner out at home)
  • Blake McKnight, 5.0 IP, 2 Ks, 2 BBs, 6 Hits, 4 ER
  • Kyle Barraclough, IP, H, 3 Ks
  • Kyle Helisek, IP
  • Steven Sabatino, 2 IP, 4 Ks
Notes:

Wick narrowly avoided the golden sombrero. He has not been the same performer since being promoted to full-season ball with Peoria.

State College beat Lowell 7 - 0

  • Darren Seferina (2B), 3 for 5, 2B, 2 Runs, RBI
  • Alex De Leon (DH), 0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks
  • Brian O'Keefe (C), 2 for 3, HR, 2 Runs, RBI
  • Jake Stone (1B), 0 for 3, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, R
  • Will Anderson, 7.0 IP, 5 Ks, BB, 6 Hits
  • Brandon Lee, 2.0 IP, 4 Ks

GCL Cardinals beat the GCL Nationals 6 - 1

  • Malik Collymore (2B), 2 for 4, SB
  • Magneuris Sierra (CF), 4 for 5, 2B, 2 Runs, 3 RBI
  • Silas Bohannan, 2 1/3 IP, 2 Ks
  • Andrew Reidt, 2.0 IP, BB, 2 Ks
  • Kevin Alexander, 2.0 IP, BB, 2 Ks
Notes:

GCL stats don't mean much, but Collymore has been killing it with a .966 OPS. I am eager to see how that carries over to a full season league.

DSL Cardinals beat the DSL Rojos 10 - 2
