Auction and Raffle for Cardinals Care

Jeff Curry-US PRESSWIRE

It may be starting to sound like a broken record, but it's really is amazing what we've done for the last three years. Thank you all! Aaron's T-Shirts have been very popular this year, and we've managed to raise nearly $4,904 by July 19th. This pace is way ahead of the previous years.

Anyway, I have a few new things for everyone. First is an autographed ball signed three Cardinal Players, A Hall of Fame-er, and one Manager! Okay, still only three signatures on the ball. But no need to split hairs.

First Autograph is the Hall of Farmer Red Schoendienst. Red was an All Star 2nd Baseman when the Cardinals won the World Series in 1946. He later lead the Cardinals to a World Series as Manager in 1967.

The Second Autograph on the ball belongs to Ted Simmons. Simmons played for the Cardinals from 1968 to 1979. During his 20 year career, he was an All Star eight times, six of those were with the Cardinals.

The Third Autograph is by former renowned Cardinal Pitcher Al Santorini. Santorini pitched for the Cardinals from 1971 to 1973, starting 20 games for the Cardinals during his Career. In 1971 he threw three complete game shutouts from August to October. (Thanks to VEB member docB15, and my buddy Doug for identifing the third signature.

To bid on the ball, please email DonaldIckes@yahoo.com; with the subject BID. Winner will be contacted Aug. 1st. And shipped after the donation.

The second part of this post is the Raffle for a McGwire Bobble-head. The Bobble-head was a giveway on Sep.18th 2001. We bet the Brewers 9-4 at Busch II. This was the second game back from the break following the 9/11 attacks. The Bobble-head will be in its original packaging with a ticket from the game.

To join the Raffle please donate to any VEB member, email me with the subject RAFFLE, and include the name you donated under. (I can see who donated). I'll pick a winner September 1st. If you already donated just send me the email.
