Memphis loses to Oklahoma City 1 - 8
- Greg Garcia (2B), 1 for 3, BB, K
- Shane Robinson (CF), 2 for 4
- Stephen Piscotty (RF), 0 for 4, K
- Thomas Pham (LF), 0 for 2, 2 BBs, R
- Angel Castro, 6.0 IP, 9 Hits, 7 ER, 3 BBs, 3 Ks, 2 HRs
Notes:
Pitching in relief for OKC was Alex White, a 1st round pick for the Indians in 2009 out of UNC. His is perhaps the most detailed MILB.com bio that I have yet seen.
Springfield had the day off.
Palm Beach lost to Lakeland 3 - 4
- Charlie Tilson (CF), 0 for 5, K
- Breyvic Valera (LF), 2 for 3, BB, CS, R
- John Gast, 5.0 IP, 5 Hits, ER, 2 BBs, K
Notes:
Not an inspiring comeback for Gast, based on his peripherals, but that hardly matters right now. At least, it's secondary to his ability to consistently throw pitches from the mound, and five innings is a pretty good start.
Peoria beat Kane County 5 - 3
- C.J. McElroy (CF), 2 for 4, K, RBI
- Juan Herrera (SS), 1 for 4
- Carson Kelly (C), 1 for 3, BB
- Kenneth Peoples-Walls (LF), 2 for 4, 2B, K, RBI
- Steve Bean (DH), 1 for 4, K, R, RBI
- Mason Katz (1B), 3 for 4, 2 2Bs, 2 Runs
- Rob Kaminsky, 6 2/3 IP, 7 Hits, 4 Ks, 2 Runs, 1 ER
- Chris Perry, 2/3 IP, K
Notes:
Kaminsky continued two trends in his fifth start this year: This was his fifth start surrendering exactly two runs (earned or otherwise), and in each of those starts he has recorded at least one more out than in his prior start. His 6 2/3 IP recorded two more outs than in his previous start.
DSL Cardinals beat the DSL Orioles(2) 4 - 1
Notes:
This was the DSL Cardinals' 2nd game this season. I'm not sure who to highlight from this, if anyone, but I'll link to it for now and if interesting players show up there we'll highlight those performances. Likewise, if there's someone relevant playing there, let us know and we'll cover their appearances.
