Memphis loses to Las Vegas 5 - 8

  • Greg Garcia (2B), 0 for 4, 3 Ks
  • Randal Grichuk (CF), 1 for 5, 2 Runs, K, SB
  • Oscar Taveras (LF-CF), 2 for 4, 2B, K, RBI
  • Stephen Piscotty (RF), 0 for 3, Outfield Assist (runner thrown out at home)
  • Thomas Pham (LF), 0 for 2
  • Zach Petrick, 5 2/3 IP, 3 BBs, 3 Ks, 4 Hits, 2 ER
  • Seth Blair, 1 1/3 IP, 4 BBs, ER
Notes:

I'm not sure what the Cardinals keep seeing in Blair. Just when they concede that he needs to move to the bullpen, they promote him to AAA as well. Control appears to still be a major issue.

Palm Beach loses to Bradenton 6 - 11

  • Charlie Tilson (CF), 3 for 5, HR, K, R, 3 RBI, CS
  • Breyvic Valera (DH), 0 for 4
  • Anthony Garcia (LF), 0 for 4, K
  • Tyrell Jenkins, 2.0 IP, 7 Hits, K, HR, 4 ER
Notes:

Rough outing for Jenkins after a pretty solid debut last week. His peripherals weren't outstanding in either start, but he's only recently back from injury. Hopefully he can piece things together over his next few starts, but of course he needs to piece it together AND actually get better than he has ever been before if he's going to truly restore his prospect status.

Tilson is tearing the cover off the ball: .357/.413/.595. Hopefully a sign of progress and things to come.
