- Cooney was able to avoid trouble for most of the night, other than the 2 run 4th inning. After walking a batter he was lifted one out from a complete game in the bottom of the 8th. He threw exactly 100 pitches.
- Stephen Piscotty provided the only highlights on offense for the Redbirds. His 2nd inning double was his 10th of the season.

Notes:
- Kyle Hald walked 4 batters in each of his first 2 Texas league starts, in his last two starts for the S-Cards he's only walked 2 and struck out 13 in 12.2 innings.
- Per a tweet from the Springfield News-Leader's Kary Booher, Hald's fastball was sitting in the mid-80s, but he was still able to induce 11 groudouts to go along with his 7 strikeouts.
- Jason Motte needed only 6 pitches (5 strikes) to get through a perfect 8th inning. His fastball was reportedly topping out at 95. Motte also made a nice play fielding a high chopper toward the 1st base line.
- Cody Stanley was the hitting star, his 4th inning solo home run, provided the margin of victory. He also swiped his 4th bag of the season.

- With nothing left to prove in Peoria, Nick Petree made his Florida State League debut, and picked right up where he left off in the Midwest League.
- Robert Stock allowed a walk for the 5th straight game, today was also only his 2nd appearance of the season in which he did not give up multiple walks. He has 22 walks against 13 strikeouts so far in 21.1 innings.
- Mr. Consistent, Breyvic Valera pushed his hitting streak to 8 games.
- Palm Beach only had 2 extra base hits and walked once, but were able push 7 runs across with the help of 10 singles.

Notes:
- Beloit led 4-0 after they batted in the 7th. Peoria went berserk and put up 8 runs in the bottom of the inning. This snapped a 38 1/3 inning scoreless streak, and the 8 runs were the first they had scored since they had a 7 run inning on Friday.
- Juan Herrera went hitless and did not draw a walk, but stole his 9th and 10 bases of the season anyway.
- All 4 outs Kyle "Bear Claw" Barraclough recorded came via strikeout. He also recorded the first pitching win of his professional career.
