St. Louis Cardinals Daily Farm Report: Piscotty continues hot hitting

The Cardinals' AAA and AA teams each drop games, while outfielders and fellow 2012 draftees James Ramsey and Stephen Piscotty enjoy strong nights.

Dilip Vishwanat

Memphis loses to Omaha, 2 - 3

Greg Garcia, playing at 2B, 0 for 3, BB, K

Randal Grichuk, CF, 0 for 3, BB, R

Oscar Taveras, LF, 1 for 4, K, CS

Stephen Piscotty, RF, 2 for 4, 2B, RBI

Joey Butler, DH, 3 for 3, R, 2 2Bs, BB

Sam Freeman, 2 IP, 2 H, 2 K, BB, 0 runs

Notes: The Memphis Redbirds faced off against former Cardinals starter Brett Tomko who pitched 202 2/3 innings over 33 games and 32 starts for the Cardinals in 2003. His ERA was 5.28 that season.

Given Piscotty's strong arm, I expect we'll continue to see him in RF and Taveras in LF whenever both start.

Springfield loses to Corpus Christi, 5 - 8

Mike O'Neill, LF, 1 for 5, K

James Ramsey, CF, 2 for 4, HR, R, RBI, BB, K

Aledmys Diaz, DH, 1 for 4, RBI, 3 Ks

Cody Stanley, C, 1 for 5, K

Patrick Wisdom, 3B, 2 for 4, 2B, R, 0 Ks (!)

Rafael Ortega, RF, 3 for 4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

No games for Palm Beach or Peoria.

Tomorrow the Memphis Redbirds, who have not announced their starter, will go up against P.J. Walters.

Springfield will start Kurt Heyer.

Palm Beach will start Kyle Helisek.

Peoria will start Nick Petree, a 9th rounder from Missouri State in last year's draft that John Sickels has said to "watch out for" in his Cardinals Top 20.

Edit: I originally listed Wisdom as being 1 for 4 instead of 2 for 4. It has since been corrected, and I also included his run scored.
