Daily Farm Report: Shortstops Aledmys Diaz and Greg Garcia hit home runs in the high minors

The system goes 2-2, while homers from Diaz and Garcia highlights the night.

  • Another solid start from Whiting. Boone continues to rack up strikeouts, he also had 7 groundouts and no flyouts,  he exited with the game tied after 77 pitches (56 strikes), before turning things over to the bullpen...
  • Nick Greenwood got into a jam in the bottom of the 7th, Jose Almarante came in to put out the fire and gave up a grand slam that put Nashville ahead for good.
  • Greg Garcia's homer was his 4th, which leads the team.
  • It looks like the plan for now is for Garcia and Kozma to split time at shortstop.

  • The S-Cards jumped on the Travelers in the 2nd and kept the on them, chasing the starter after 4 innings.
  • Springfield took advantage of the Arkansas battery to the tune of 4 stolen bases.
  • Aledmys Diaz hit his second homer of the year.

  • Palm Beach trailed for most of the game before scoring 6 runs in the 7th and 8th innings.
  • Chuck Tilson is hitting .273 on the season, but he struck out for the 19th time in 14 games.
  • Starlin Rodriguez refuses to go away, after a rough season last year he is off to a .318/.412/.614 start.

  • Carson Kelly and Steve Bean continue to share time at catcher, although Kelly gets regular time at DH on nights he's not catching.
  • No matter who is behind the plate or on the mound, teams run on Peoria. Fort Wayne was 4-5 on stolen base attempts.
