I'm actually astounded at how VEB is not overly optimistic on Oscar Taveras, at least in comparison with the projections sytems. Sure, we still come out on top in terms of OPS and wOBA, but not by very much at all, and the .462 projected SLG (which sounds really, really high to me) is tied with Oliver. ZiPS comes in third highest with a .287/.331/.448 line and even that looks really optimistic. I'd be ecstatic if we got that out of Taveras' main competitor for playing time, Matt Adams, and this is a line projected for a 21-year-old who was injured all year.
