I'm going to be completely honest: I have no idea what we're going to be getting out of Peter Bourjos offensively. These are his wRC+ over the four years of his career spanning ages 23-26: 65, 114, 72, 103, all of which track his BABIPs over those same years. He showed good power in his first two years (.177 and .167 ISO), but very little in the last two years (.095 and .103). He probably won't walk very much, only seeing 5.5% of his plate appearances ending in a walk. He's also shown a very slight reverse platoon split in his career too (95 wRC+ vs lefties and 97 wRC+ vs righties). I'm actually surprised to see he's only stolen 41 bases in his career, given his excellent speed.
Further complicating the task of projecting Peter Bourjos is his injury history. He played with a bad hip in 2012. He's had hamstring issues. He most recently had wrist surgery, which is always scary for anyone in the profession. That means 2014 Peter Bourjos could literally be at a different talent level than any other previous iteration of the player (higher talent level if he's healther; lower talent level if the wrist doesn't heal).
All in all, he's just terribly difficult player to project. We're not entirely sure what hitting skills he actually had when he was healthy. We don't know how healthy he is now. We don't know if he's a different player now that he's healthy.
We do know he can do this, though!
