2014 VEB Community Projection Results: Peter Bourjos

Hey, all of the projections are really, really close to each other! The spread in OPS only ranges for .689 to .738 and the spread in wOBA only ranges from .305 to .321. For the first time, ZiPS is actually the optimistic out of all the projections, seeing Bourjos hit .259/.314/.424. VEB and Steamer are very close in their projections, while Oliver and PECOTA, as usual, are among the more pessimistic.

There is a lot more variation in VEB's individual projections. User adam_ala is particularly optimistic, seeing Bourjos hit .310/.315/.485 with 18 HR and 40 SB in 550 PA, and if he's hitting like that, he should certainly be getting those PAs. Ultimately, that 50th Percentile line looks just about right to me; low average, which leads to a low OBP, and a pretty decent ISO. To me, that's a perfect 9th place hitter, but that's just me!

CELEBRITY DOPPELGANGER: Jude Law and David Freese both got two votes each, and since David Freese is a stupid and boring answer, we're going with Jude Law
