Last week voting began for the first ever SB Nation MLB Awards. We spent the week deciding on things from Cardinals funniest moment to pitching performance of the year. The week wrapped up with voting on team of the year. This results post was origionally supposed to be posted on Monday, but when John Mozeliak makes a trade for Jason Heyward, you change your plans.

Here are your winners:

2014 Cardinals Funniest Moment

.

.

.

Yadier Molina leaves his brother a snack

Here is the voting break-down:

2014 Cardinals Most Regrettable Moment

.

.

.

Mike Matheny calls on a rusty Michael Wacha to pitch the most important inning of the season

This one was a runaway. How the votes break-down:

2014 Cardinals Defensive Play of the Year

.

.

.

Seth Maness has a rendezvous with destiny as the Cardinals turn a triple-play

Peter Bourjos turned in a solid effort in second place, but ultimately could not displace the ground ball prowess of Seth Maness:

2014 Cardinals Most Important Hit

.

.

.

Matt Carpenter gives the Cardinals a lead with a bases-clearing a double against Kershaw

Thanks to the Cardinals dinger-parade in the postseason, many coming late in the game, this vote was one of the closest:

2014 Cardinals Pitching Performance of the Year

.

.

.

Adam Wainwright guts out seven brilliant innings with his team facing elimination

This was the closest of them all, with Waino out dueling himself by three votes. While statistically, his game against the Diamondbacks was better, most of us agreed there is just something about the Ace pitching with the playoffs on the line, especially when we add in his recent health concerns and all the doubt surrounding his start (Heart you, Adam):

2014 Team of the Year

.

.

.

The Kansas City Royals

The Royals were the overwhelming favorites this year. Some additional nominations in the write-in category were the Nationals, the Dodgers, more for the Royals, and one for my face (blushes, aww shucks, spants):

Now that we have selected our candidates to represent us, we must put them in the esteemed hands of the SB Nation selection committee. We have some strong contenders, but are they strong enough to defeat 29 other teams worth of nominees? All we can do now is wait....
Thanks for your participation this year!
