2014 SB Nation MLB Awards: St. Louis Cardinals' most regrettable moment

Earlier today the voting opened for the season's funniest moment. Now we switch gears to regrettable moments - moments that were preventable and you just wish never had happened*. Here are your candidates:

4. Matheny calls on a rusty Michael Wacha to pitch

5. Daniel Desclaso makes a start at shortstop

*Like me, many of you probably thought of the tragic passing of Oscar Taveras when you saw this category. While his death is "regrettable", it is also so much more than that. It is tragic and sad and so many other more important and heartfelt emotions. To mention his death in this silly competition, to me, would trivialize its significance and impact on so many people, which is why it was not included. Rest in peace, Oscar.
