Jaime Garcia is a very good pitcher. This is what I keep repeating to myself: In 217 innings, Jaime Garcia struck out more than three batters for every one batter he watched. His FIP was 3.23 and his xFIP was 3.31, if you like that sort of thing. He's got great stuff and he's coming off one of the Cardinals' best starts in the postseason. Since Al Hrabosky won't be around to remind you, he loves to hit, and the Cardinals are back in the National League.

He's better than Colby Lewis, and he gives the Cardinals the best chance they have to beat the Rangers and move on to Game 7 of the World Series, which is at least what I'm hoping they'll do.

The Cardinals' lineup has Skip Schumaker in it much too early—I'd like to see David Freese there, or Lance Berkman—but it's still a good lineup.

That's really all there is: These Cardinals against these Rangers in one game. They'll need to take advantage of Colby Lewis's propensity for the home run, and they'll have to do it with men on base. That's it.
