Blake Hawksworth takes on Kyle Davies in a battle of pitchers who the other team's fans will be furious about after any and all one-two-three innings. Blake Hawksworth was last a starter full-time in Memphis last season, when he made 12 starts with an ERA of 3.58. It was actually his best season since his shoulder disappeared; he struck out seven batters per nine innings, walked 2.5, didn't really allow any home runs.
Before that is where you get problems—in 2008 he got crushed, 2007 as well, mostly because of ugly home run rates. In the high minors his peripherals indicate a guy who might be a pretty decent starter, if you didn't translate them at all to the Major League level. If you do... you get Blake Hawksworth.
Or Kyle Davies. Lineup after the jump.
