Petit Pineiro
7.20 FIP 2.97 FIP

I've been out of town for a few days and, while I was gone, the D-backs swapped Petit and Haren in the rotation. Considering how well he pitched yesterday, it appears to have been a good decision. Here's yesterday's preview of Petit:Petit is giving up 3 homers every 9 innings and has walked 14 in 33 IP. He's been hurt by a GB% of 32.2%. He's basically a fastball, slider, changeup guy whose fastball is averaging just 86.6 mph. The bottom line -- he's not good AND he's right-handed. We should score some runs today.

Pineiro -- what can we say that hasn't already been said. He's been fantastic. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop but, considering that it's been his heavy sinker that's been dropping (along w/ his ERA and FIP) rather than his performance, there's no reason we shouldn't come away from today w/ a series win. Of course, now that I've said that, Petit will probably shut us down and Pineiro will give up 7 runs in 3 innings!
