Looper Lilly
10-9, 4.29 ERA 11-6, 4.35 ERA
I'm somewhere between Memphis and St. Louis right now as I head toward Autozone Park for the first of three Redbird games this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to listen to the Cardinal game on the radio but we'll have to see.
The Cardinals have struggled against Lilly this year whose seen them twice. He's thrown 13 innings allowing 13 hits, 2 walks and striking out 9 for a 3.46 ERA over those two games. The Cardinals will be responding with Braden Looper who held them to 2 runs over 7 innings in his lone game against them this season. The baby bears have won 2 in a row and 9 of their last 11 -- several in dramatic late inning fashion.
Note to Cardinal bullpen: Don't blow a save against the Cubs. Bad things will happen in Cardinal Nation. I'd hate to have to cut my vacation short in order to knock some heads together. But I will. . .
Overflow at 2:45pm. Go Cardinals!
