both of these pitchers are examples of why a team should never commit $10m a year to a mid-rotation starter. pitchers of this caliber are literally a dime a dozen; you can always pluck one out of your bullpen, off the bottom of the free-agent pile, or out of the quadruple A talent pool.

moehler joined the houston rotation in may and has a 3.79 era in his 20 starts.
