Well, the Brewers are going through a Coors nightmare tonight, so a win tonight would be pretty nice. Maddux hasn't exactly dominated the current Cardinals' lineup over the course of his career, with Pujols, Rolen and Taguchi all having a career OPS of .900 or more against him, and Encarnación having an OPS of .898 against the Mad Dog.

He's only averaged about eighty one pitches a game this season, so it might be nice to see the Cards take some pitches and try to run up his pitch count, so that the bullpen is nice and stretched out for tomorrow's game. It would be a nice change of pace from these at bats that we've been seeing recently, where the players go up and instantly dig themselves into 1-2 holes, anyway. Regardless, Maddux has always been one of my favorite players, and it's nice to see him still putting up a league average season at the age of forty one.

A win tonight guarantees that this won't be a series loss, at least.
