GAME TIME 6:10 CDT
ulp --- a revenge game, the cardinals' first one in over a month. it's a double-revenge game, in fact, against a team we beat in october and a pitcher we dumped this off-season. i predict the mets will win, 100-0. . . . .but wait: since the cards are starting a pitcher who came over from one of the revenge teams that have bedeviled them all season, perhaps that will counteract the met's revenge mojo? . . . . either that or shea stadium will become a black hole of revenge, and the universe will consume itself at that node. sort of like what bill james predicted would happen if vance law ever attempted to tag out rudy law on a steal attempt.
and god forbid that tom lawless should be backing up on the play. . . . .
here are debut starts of the cardinals' most recent in-season mound acquisitions. the * next to sterling hitchcock's name below means that he actually made his first two appearances with the cardinals as a reliever:

by the way, the guys at metsblog (one of the very best team blogs on the 'net) sent over a few questions about our side, which i answered to the best of my ability.
