they may not get this game in; we got a heavy hailstorm at 1:30 pm, and it rained for three hours after that. the rain has stopped for now, but soggy clouds are still draped overhead and the ground is saturated.a little followup from this morning's Q+A with jeff luhnow: tommy pham and wilmer alvarado, a couple of the players who luhnow said are doing well at extended spring training, were promoted today to class A Quad Cities. pretty good challenge for these players, who are both still teenagers. until now, the 8-man rotation had served as quad cities' chief point of interest; suddenly the everyday lineup has become interesting, too.
here's an interesting item: tom verducci used bill james' projections to forecast the all-time leaderboard for base hits circa 2025. albert pujols stands 4th on that make-believe list, just ahead of The Man:
