cardsrul saw this on the official site: larry walker to the disabled list. he'll be replaced by john gall, who has waited forever to get a cup of coffee in mlb. product of the fertile stanford university baseball program, chosen by the cards in the 11th round of the 2000 draft. he spent two years in A ball, one in AA, and has been at memphis for the last 2 1/2 years. gall is 27 years old; here is his career line.

scouting info from matt leach's mlb.com report: "He's a polished, line-drive hitter with solid strike zone judgment. He doesn't have outstanding power, but has a plan at the plate. The Cardinals have asked him to improve his defense in the outfield, and most reports are that he has made progress. As of Monday morning, he was batting .270/.339/.438 (batting average/on-base/slugging) with 10 home runs, 17 doubles and 47 RBIs for Memphis."
