Baby Update

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, baby Landon James was born 1/9/07. He's healthy and very cute. 7 lbs 5 oz, 21 inches. Labor was pretty much hell for my wife, but she's ok, narrowly escaping having to get a C section. Just thought some of you may want to know. No idea when I'll resume my Sunday posts or updating my other blogs, probably in a week or so. Right now, I'm mom's go'fer.

Landon James?
That doesn't sound like Stan Albert.

Congrats. Just visualize a lefty-hitting catcher.

Congratulations
To the whole Reverend Redbird clan.  You going to put him on your Future 'Birds blog any time soon?  You could follow his attempts to walk and whatnot, as it relates to his prospect status.  Cheers!

Congrats
Is this your first?  I can remeber how ecstatic I was when my son was born in 2005 (hint: it was the same feeling as when a certain baseball team won the most recent World Series).  My wife and I have another on the way in June so I can relive the glory (My wife doesn't think it's so glorious but what does she know?  Just kidding).

Anyway, congrats to you and the mrs.

Hope your wife is relaxing
and that she gets waited on hand a foot for a few days.  Glad the baby is healthy and all went well!

I'm thinking left-handed starting pitcher...

Congrats!
Wishing you and your wife all the best on the birth of your healthy baby boy.

Re: lefty
I'm contemplating tying my 2-year-old's right hand behind his back.

Congrats to the Eriks!
He'll change your life...a lot of it in a good way!  (just kidding!)  Awesome news.  I've already brainwashed my kids for the Cards -- now, no matter what sport I'm watching, if someone scores, they yell "Yeah, Cardinals!"  It's awesome!

Good on ya, Mr. and Mrs. Erik
I'd be willing to bet you're going to bogart that baby.

congratulations
I'll give you a tip for both the indoctrination and happiness of Landon James: "Old MacDonald Had A Farm" can be pretty easily converted into "Tony La Russa Had A Team".  (And on that team he had a Yadi, e-i-e-i-o.  With a pickoff here and a pickoff there, here a pickoff, there a pickoff, everywhere a pickoff...)

Here's to the hope that the coming years are everything you hope for and more.

Ok, so he'll be ready for the MLB draft around 2025. Better start with soft-tossing and hitting off the tee. From the left-side of course!

If all else fails, get out the catcher's gear.

Congrats on your new addition!

Congratulations
and welcome to the best part of your life!
(As I recall from a previous post, this is your first baby- making your baby laugh is even better than seeing your team win it all!)
I'm going to my happy place now.

many congratulations!  What is the smallest size they make Pujols jerseys in?

It's a wonderful thing!  And it's never to early to get the baseballs out.  Start early and yours will be like my 2-year-old who loves the Cardinals and baseball in general.  Get to work!

Congrats Erik and Mrs. Erik
on the new addition to the Cardinal's family.
And don't worry too much about us on Sundays, we can survive for a couple of weeks w/o a post.

Start him off young
First thing I did was buy enough Cardinals clothes to offset anything the in-laws tried. Since I technically live in California, it was a good move. As for you Erik, congrats and enjoy it man. Your life will never be the same.
