J-ROD Injures Shoulder...so now what?

John Rodriguez injured his left (throwing) shoulder in the early innings of today's game vs the Mets on ESPN.  TLR did a dugout interview the next inning and was clearly worried about it.  When asked about the injury, "concerned" was the wording.  He seemed distracted with it throughout the interview.  So my guess is that Skip Schumaker is tag-teaming with The Gooch in left.  Might we also be carrying an extra pitcher into the season?  Hancock and Benes?  Falkenborg possibly?  Who knows... PS> Some good news... In the inning following J-ROD's injury, down 0-2, Mr. Pujols came up with a runner on 2nd and JACKED one out to left-center to tie it up. Go Cardinals.

7th Inning..Oh my god.
Pujols hits his THIRD HOMER of the GAME in the 7th.  The deepest of the three to dead center.  He is soooooo good.

The Second One....
I saw.  It was sick.  The sound alone I knew that he had hit it out.  Such a quick, compact, powerful swing.

crap
just when J-Rod was starting to put it together with the bat this spring, too ... hope he's not out too long. For some reason, I still think his performance last year was not a fluke, and that he could be a good everyday player.

Seems like the big competition for LF we all anticipated has turned into "Last Man Standing"...

Skipguchi? Would that platoon combine to hit 10 home runs?

If you include batting practice...
and maybe a guest appearance for a little league team... no.

Only a Flesh Wound
Derrick Goold posted at Bird Land that Rodriguez is not headed for the DL and will start the season on the roster and his shoulder evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
