one more plea for Carl Crawford.
On Dec 2, Daily Herald columnist Scot Gregor, wrote. "The asking price...two front line players and a pitcher prospect." He was refering to what it would take to bring Crawford to the White Sox. I am not sure how he knows that, but if that is true. Why not try a three way deal. I know I know I am dreaming again. I know it will never happen and I am just a nut from Syracuse. I am thinking we can move any of the following; Encarnacion, Looper, Flores, Duncan, and Rincon. As far as a pitching "prospect" is concerned I would take Navi, AW and Reyes off the table, but any of our fine young arms in the minors would be available. If Tampa is not interested in what we have to offer then we may need to go threeway to find what they want. I guess the key here would be to move Encarnacion. Then sign Trot Nixon 2y/12m to play right. Boston did not offer him arbitration.
Eckstien
Crawford
Pujols
Rolen
Edmonds
Nixon
Kennedy
Molina
Damn, that would be on feared line up! And maybe the best defense in all of baseball.

Tampa
WOW
Now on your trade idea I like it I think trading Juan in that situation would be good while trading for Carl Crawford would be amazing have always liked him hes a good player im sure a lot of people on this blog would like to see him in Cardinal red.
What can I say about Trot Nixon good hitter great defensively but do we know what we.re getting? will he play as well as usual after his injury?
the last one or two years we havent gotten alot of production out of our outfield hitters until Duncan showed up i think Crawford,Edmonds,Nixon would give us some really good production.

Read this very carefully.
TAMPA BAY IS NOT INTERESTED IN TRADING ONE OF THE BEST YOUNG PLAYERS IN ALL OF BASEBALL FOR WHOPPING BIG PLATE OF DEEP FRIED MEMPHIS TOE JAM, NOT EVEN IF WE THROW IN POWDERED SUGAR.
AMAZING, YOUNG, PRODUCTIVE, CHEAP, PREMIUM-DEFENSE POSITION PLAYERS DO NOT GET TRADED, BECAUSE IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR THE TEAM THAT CONTROLS THEM TO DO SO. THE ONLY WAY THAT IT WOULD MAKE SENSE FOR THEM TO DO SO, IS IF THE PRICE IS SO GREAT, THAT IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR THE CARDINALS TO DO SO...GET IT?
SO, TO RECAP:
THE CARDINALS ARE NOT TRADING FOR CARL CRAWFORD
THANKS.
addendum.
WE ARE NOT TRADING FOR CARL CRAWFORD.
Thanks. Again.
Dude chill
not angry
Also, in response to whoever below, I would posit that it is (caps alert) FAR more likely that the Cardinals would trade for Manny Ramirez than trade the aforementioned players (promising bat and Useless Bucket O' Lefthanded Crap, respectively) for Carl Crawford.
Amen Again.
crawdaddy
the cards dont have much to offer, especially when you are taking wainwright and reyes off the table. generally speaking, you arent going to trade spare parts for good young players. most GMs arent fooled by the quantity over quality offer. think of a young player in the cardinals organization that you least want to give up because thats basically what it is going to take.
People need to realize that if we are trading for

A week or so ago there was a rumored deal with the Tigers. Remember Encar and Looper for Thames and Maroth. That rumor never went anywhere, but let's use it as an example.
Say that deal happened. We could keep Maroth, and send Thames, Duncan, and Reyes to Tampa. Something like this could be done. I know I know only in dream land.
