The Cardinals should try to land Yadiel Hernandez

He's a 28 year old outfielder who has a career .324/.449/.487 slash line. One can assume a 30-50 pt drop in BA and 50-100 pt drop in OBP, but those would still be respectable numbers. And he and Matt Carpenter would drive opposing pitchers crazy - he has 95 more walks than strikeouts for his career.

In addition, he does not affect the international bonus pool, and the highest AAV contract awarded to a Cuban baseball player on his first MLB contract to date was just shy of $11.5 million per year - which would mean the Cardinals would be replacing Heyward with Leake + Hernandez (roughly) in terms of salary.
