Memphis didn't waste any time, scoring 5 runs in the 1st 2 innings. Greg Garcia was the only Memphis hitter not to get a hit, but he reached on a fielder's choice and scored. Tommy Pham was the only Redbird starter not to score.
Much like Thursday night the Redbirds were able to put up a big number even though they had trouble putting balls over the fence. They scored 12 runs with 1 home run Thursday night, and scored 13 without the aid of a homer last night.
Springfield starter Mike Mayers was making his Texas League debut. He was able to wriggle out of a couple jams, but was undone by a 3 run 5th inning.
James Ramsey drove in Springfield's 1st run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 3rd, but Starlin Rodriguez replaced him in center to start the bottom of the 3rd. I'm not sure if that was due to injury or not.
The 3 home runs State College hit were the only ones hit in the system last night. Which means Rowan Wick single-handedly hit more homers than the rest of the Cardinals minor league affiliates combined.
