Masterson, after looking like an incredible steal from the Red Sox for a couple seasons has started this one looking very poor indeed, walking a ton of batters and giving up a lot of runs. I suspect this is more likely a temporary setback from. A decent pitcher, though I hope he doesn't recover his form today.

Lohse is the only Cardinal pitcher with a weak groundball rate. Oddly enough, both clubs specialize in pitchers with high groundball rates, but both have very poor defense. This doesn't seem like a recipe for success on run prevention.
