Now, I'm not the most stringent adherent to the WAR stat, but I think it is pretty clear that Mike Trout and Buster Posey are the main contenders within the baseball world of things.

Look at Mike: most WAR in MLB; leader in wRC+ even in a Triple Crown season!; well, except for the Triple Crown winner tying you; Buster Posey tying with Ryan Braun in wRC+ in the National League... Many clamoring for Andrew McCutchen in Pittsburgh as the MVP of the National League... being understandable. But Buster....

Yeah, there's also Yadier Molina... why not Buster? Well, shit....

If Trout and Buster don't get the awards this year, I'm not sure who should.... opening up a whole new can of worms...
