Well it is late nite so...
It was the 2007 ALDS. I was babysitting and there was nothing on TV except for the Yankees and Indians. Since I hate the Yankees I didn’t want to watch them. So I flipped and found nothing and then I came back to the game and I realized they were losing. And then I was like, “Hey that guy playing center field for this here Indians team is pretty cute. Ok I’ll watch.” And the rest is history.

Minus the cute centerfielder. I turned on ESPN some time in 2004 and the Cards were playing the Marlins – they showed the the lineups and the stats of each player and I was enamored with how well the Cards lineup was balanced, specifically with Pujols.

Ryan Theriot provides absolutely nothing.
He has 17 career homeruns in over 3100 PA’s. He has the worst glove out of all the middle infielders. Give me Patterson over Theriot anyday. Give me Schumaker over Theriot any day also.

my main point is...
Theriot isn’t starting. He’s not a good enough hitter to rely on as a pinch hitter and you can’t put him in for defensive purposes. Patterson, at least has a little bit of pop left and at least serves a role as backup outfielder (however underservingly). I don’t see Theriot as having a role on this club any longer….especially if Punto winds up coming back
