I bet people think McClellan’s been better. You’re underrating how badly people think of Carp methinks.

It's where you pop out to the catcher
The goal is to make him move as little as possible before he catches it.
see, striking out can encourage the opposing pitcher
if you bunt correctly, the catcher should be able to look up and nonchalantly open up his mitt to catch the ball. the pitcher doesn’t feel as dominant because the out was automatic.

Christian Friedrich and Jason Kipnis are the most notable. It’s weird.
Oh, I also played against Brian Schlitter

I played ball against Kirk Rueter a couple of times.

right move is going with the lefty
with two switch hitters and a lefty due up next.
Grit != flat out sucking.
Not when said lefty sucks so hard that a righty would have been a better option
which Motte clearly was

Wow that's impressive.
They should pinch-hit with Motte against lefties more often. Miller should stick to his day job though.

The bullpen isn't all bad it just has a few sucky pitchers that make it harder for the rest of them.
If you like baseball...you'll love my ROKU !!!
With Sanchez out, we have two options that are average or better.
Salas is above average, Motte is ok. That’s it.

I think Motte is better than average...he was a little pumped and beaned some guys...

Yep. Something like that.
I like Motte. He can be really, really good at times. Maybe I’m inflating what an average reliever looks like.
The Roger Dean Project was swell while it lasted.
in fairness, ryan hoiward is high on the list of people motte should never pitch to.
Motte has a terrible platoon split.

yes, it’s getting better, but it’s still not good. however, i think we will agree the real problem here is that there’s too many pitchers trying to be used in the “lowest possible leverage”.

I dug up the gmLI for Batista in June a few days ago.
It had been around 1.20 – 1.50 or so. Seems less than that now, but someone has to pitch these innings and the starters haven’t been going as deep lately.
...and his name was Eduardo Sanchez, and the name of his slider was Death -DanUp
by The Continental on Jun 21, 2011 11:13 PM EDT up reply actions
he was used in several really high situations at the begining of the year
and, there were a lot of close games for the first two weeks or so. Which lead to everyone having a high leverage situation.
Like you said, when we have starters going 5-6 innings, there are going be a lot more times when someone has to pitch those innings. And some times other guys are not going to be available.
Grit != flat out sucking.
above all else
Batista and Franklin both look putrid 85% of the time. The likelihood of them turning it around looks very unlikely to me. At the very least why can we not create phantom injuries and DL one of them? Especially when most of the bp problems are based off of their suckitude
dont see how it could be Duncs fault
That Batista, Franklin, Miller and Taller are all on our team. Its not like Duncan can just ‘fix’ those guys when they completely ducking suck. I don’t care how much TLR may want some of these ‘vets’ on his team, this falls squarley on Mozeliak….this bullen is pathetic…I don’t know if any of those 4 guys would even be on another team.

I’m a big fan most of the time, and every reliever is going to occasionally blow it. But Motte hit two batters and didn’t record an out. Can’t blame the ump or BABIP or anything for a bases loaded HBP to tie the game.
A testy Pujols when asked by @JoeStrauss if he thinks this injury will affect his future "that’s a stupid question, Joe," then walks off.
I've noticed he's struggled with hitting batters this season
I don’t remember this from previous seasons. Am I remembering incorrectly?

batista looked worse
Miller got an out, gave up a hit to a switch hitter. Then walked one guy. (who happened to be chase utley)
Motte didn’t get an out, but he threw strikes before hitting batters.
Talent got an out.
Grit != flat out sucking.
and, like someone said about
Miller did appear to pitch utley pretty well. the result wasn’t too good, but the approach was.

Question:
Is it weird if your parents invite their friends and your siblings invite their friends to your graduation party?
There could actually be a scenario where I have less friends than my siblings and parents at my own party. A very good chance.

because there’s a nice mix of 13-years-old,16-years-old, 18-years-old, and then everyone else will be 30-years-old or older.
