An Ode to Dirty Dan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCbuRA_D3KU

If this doesn't make you laugh then you have no soul. I love the Descalso and the only thing that can explain my love of a .220 third baseman is this video. I couldn't think of a better ode than this one...I hope that some day this is his walk out music but until then please enjoy the music. Danny boy. oh danny boy. no one has the glove that you do...

sorry.

I’m just saying this, because I know the “FANSHOT” police will be here soon. This should be a fanshot not a fanpost. Fanpost’s are generally longer and take some serious premeditation. Links to videos like this fit a lot better as fanshots. Thanks.

That is correct!!

The panel of judges also would have accepted a correction of his use of “your” instead of “you’re,” or something abour rui’s mom. (Is that rui’s mom line still going on? I hope so, because that could be some funny shit sometimes.)

I think more or less everyone likes Descalso

I’ve been a fan of his since his big season in Springfield a couple of years ago, and I think his bat will come around to at least be palatable (don’t think he’s ever going to be an above-average hitter, though). The real surprise has been just how good his fielding has been. I don’t think we’ve had a 3B I’ve been as comfortable with in the field since Rolen, and that’s high praise.

Still bitching to contact.

His D is sick and his clutchy, just can't understand why he can't hit with nobody on...

Descalso has been great

I just worry that he’ll not be able to keep up the clutch hitting and amazing defense. but so far so good. did you know, he leads the majors in Clutch statistically?

also, he’s 17th in WPA, Berkman is 4th, Holliday is 7th, which means Dirty Dan is 3rd in WPA on the Cardinals

neither the clutch hitting or the defense will keep up

unless you think he’s LITERALLY the best 3B of all time (which I don’t).

However, his BABIP will come around and he should go from an overall bad hitter to an overall mediocre one, and I think he can be a +10 defender at 3B. That’s a slightly above-average player. More likely he rounds out to be an average one, but still – I think he’ll do fine, that’s what I’m saying.

Still bitching to contact.

most people haven't noticed

Descalso had a previous career as a successful punk rock drummer:

he also had a lot of tattoos removed.
