While it's nice to see people taking my ideas seriously
It’s a little disturbing to see others taking credit for them.
Boog would have made that play.

You've freely admitted you're not the only one who subscribes to these theories
Can you please state your sentence in a way that shows that you recognize that, or at least PROVE that he directly stole your ideas?
Of all sad words of tongue or pen; the saddest are these: 'It might have been!'

I identified the link and first wrote about it
You can find my posts about this all over the web starting in 2006.
Verducci is copying lines from my web site virtually word for word.
I don’t know if it’s straight plagiarism or if someone (perhaps Fleisig of ASMI) is representing stuff from my web site as their own ideas, but something is clearly up.
Multiple people from VEB, including the OPer, recognize that.
On my web site…
…I say this…
Like the Inverted L and the Inverted V, the Inverted W is not (that) bad in and of itself. The Inverted W doesn’t directly lead to injuries. Instead, the problem with the Inverted W is that it can create a timing problem,
…and Verducci says this in his piece…
The problem is the timing associated with that move, not the move itself.
Only a fool would deny that this is just a rewrite of what I wrote.
I am working to contact the si.com ombudsman, but I doubt if they will do anything.
Boog would have made that play.
McClellan does seem to have a timing problem
So it will be interesting to see how his arm holds up now that he is a starter.
Boog would have made that play.
wish they would leave him in the 'pen
I like Kyle Lohse and Jon Jay

well, and also TJ survivor
Doesn’t the TJ rehab process end up decreasing the likelihood of recurrence? Or is this not statistically proven?
Unrelated
There have been multiple people with multiple Tommy John surgeries (e.g. Billy Wagner). That is because the thing that broke the first UCL causes the same problem with the replacement UCL.
Boog would have made that play.
Well, I've contacted an editor at SI and made my case to him
The story has also gotten more bizarre.
I think what may have happened is that Verducci tried to attribute my stuff to Fleisig, because Fleisig has more credibility, but Fleisig just wrote a letter basically disavowing some of those attributions.
That actually makes sense because I was a bit surprised that he would be the one who would feed my stuff to Verducci.
Boog would have made that play.
So the SI editor blew off the similarity
What’s funny is that Friday i was contacted by a writer for ESPN who had been referred to my site by an MD. The similarity was very obvious to that writer.
I’m considering what to do.
Boog would have made that play.
Like what?
You could do a detailed comparison of all the things you think Verducci copied from you and put it on your website. And you could call him a plagiarist and write a nastygram to him and his editor (and “cc” espn or whoever else you think might be interested – make sure not to defame/libel him in the process).
But what else could you do? It’ not like you could sue him for not properly attributing ideas you think he got off of your public website.

Libel the hell out of him!
Nobody ever gets convicted of libel.

i'm afraid there's nothing you can really do
except to try and get your name out there and then subtly point out you’ve had those ideas way back when without insulting anyone
if that ESPN writer wants your help directly, he needs to put your name in whatever he’s writing

coming in 2011: Boog would've moments count....
I'm also an MD
I’ve been reading you site since 2007 and find it to be very insightful. It was purely by chance after I read an article about Nolan Ryan working with the Rangers. I was trying to find out more about proper pitching mechanics to teach my son (he was 2 months old at the time) and came across your site. Even better that it was written by a cards fan. I am a big fan of openness with medical information. Anything that saves kids arms should be shared with as many people as possible even if Cards fan in me wants only my team to use this information to construct a rotation that will dominate the league for years. It does suck not getting credit for your work, but if it makes you feel better at least some of us recognize it.

I sincerely appreciate the interest
It helps keep me going.
I also got this a few days ago…
My name is _ and I write for ESPN dot com and other websites. I’m putting together an article on a recent interview I had with a doctor in regards to Tommy John surgery. This doctor pointed me in the direction of your website. He was very impressed.
So clearly not everyone thinks I’m (completely) crazy (at least about this).
Boog would have made that play.
Also...
I’m fairly certain that the issue is more the fact that I’m a nobody than one of plagiarism.
No matter how insightful he might be, it’s never that compelling to quote a nobody.
Boog would have made that play.
