Adam's Ouchie Overflow/VEB Night Thread

Today we here at VEB got some of the worst news possible

Star-divide

No, Albert isn't leaving for bean town or the windy city. No Colby hasn't been traded for the ghosts of aaron miles & rex hudler. No Aranathor hasn't been outed as a 35yr old mother of 4 living in St Chuck who's just bored & playing with our emotions. Sadly the news we got today about Adam needing TJ is probably worse than any of those. (not the Aranathor one of course, luv u buuuddyyy! ;-))

Anyway, I think I've stalled enough. Since we were told not to sully RB's main thread & there are almost 2000 comments in Az's thread, I made this one to continue the conservation. Or talk about whatever. Either way, today sucked. Here's hoping tomorrow doesn't.

PS, the reds suck

Ohio should have a labor board. Start there.

You’ll spend more on a lawyer than what your owed.

I roomied with him while he went to law school at WASHU. I should have been handed a degree just for living with two law students for three years. Also, a new liver.

dude your case is cut and dry. if they owe you money, here is what you do:

send them a letter. say that they owe you a certain amount of money. say that if they do not send you the money within X number of days you will instigate legal action. if they don’t respond, call the department of labor (state or federal) – they will help you.

I'm almost sure it's from the "Hall of Famer" Franchise cap line by Twins '47 if that helps any...

We had them at my friend’s sporting goods store that I worked in for a bit (I was in charge of ordering his MLB line of hats) but that was a couple years ago. I haven’t seen that particular logo on one in a while. I actually had one, but my ex apparently disposed of it, along with three or four others and an authentic customized home jersey) in one of her fits of pettiness.

Millwood and Westbrook

both sound kinda like suburban street names. I think I’ve actually made this comment on VEB before, though… I recycle material a lot here.

I think they would probably be Westbrook lane and Millwood court, specifically.

wait, not bringing him back?

I’m sure we would have signed him for a base of a million or something with incentives. But he signed for 3/up to 6, plus we really didn’t have a need for him at the time. You can always look back now and say we should’ve signed him for 3, but that doesn’t mean it was stupid at the time we didn’t. How was the team supposed to know Waino would go down like this?

sample anything

I’ve made songs out of just samples from a weird homemade guitar (cardboard tube with springs) or a pvc tube, or make samples out of real instruments, done that also. that way you can make a tune. also I have a lot of edited samples compiled from my home studio

"We were men - flesh and blood - and we played baseball in the sunshine. We hit doubles off the wall, slid hard into second base. We had fights, and we made love. We sang songs and prayed on Sundays. . . . We felt pain. And we felt joy. There was a lot wrong with the world. But we weren't sad, man. We had the times of our lives." you know, i’ve always liked Kevin Millwood & thought he’d look great with the BOB’s. i don’t know anything about his recent production, i think he pitched in BMore last year right? but if he’s half as good as he used to be in the ATL & has anything left in the tank MO has to call his agent right?
