Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

The presenter butchers pronunciation; the President takes a little shot at Albert without mentioning his name.

Greatest Cardinal is even better than remembered

As a transplant to the deep south, I sometimes try to explain how good Stan the Man was to friends that are unfamiliar. The records, highlights and stories are enough, but I usually add “not for a series, or a week or a month, or until the All-Star game, or for a season, but for his 22-year career lasting into his 40’s, Stan totaled more doubles than strikeouts. He never. Missed. The ball.” Since he retired and was elected to the Hall of Fame by the end of the 60’s, decades before OBP and more advanced metrics became part of the awareness of value, I’ve always wondered how his story would shift through a modern lens.
