yes, but all the "experts" say hes great
Reporter: "Did you visit the Parthenon while in Greece?"
Shaquille O’Neill: "I can’t really remember the names of all the clubs we went to."
The thing is,
everyone knew that a couple of years ago… then he became an ALMIGHTY NEW YORK YANKEE®.
Yea
but he was even worse the last 2 years with the Dodgers.
He was his usual terrible self except for April and August.
No, he's actually good.

I swear, this Viagra ad with the horses...
There’s a shot of the horses walking into some sort of tunnel at some point.
Hunh, Pegasus, you'd almost think they're trying to send some sort of subliminal messages.

I think that there's "Buy German Manufacturing" written in Sanskrit in the horses' manes.
That or some sort of sexual imagery; I can’t quite decide.

I'm pretty pumped for tomorrow.
I know there’s been a lot of frustration with this team this year. I admit to giving up on them at more than one point; I kept watching and listening to games, but that’s more because I like baseball as background noise than because I had expectations, let alone hopes.
But damn, I got emotionally caught up in the September chase. It left me really loving this group of players. And while having already given up on them more than once has left me less invested than I’ve been in other years, at the same time it’s been sort of liberating. I just want to watch this team play a baseball game again… and again and again and again.

yeah, I was rooting for it
fun fact, Berkman’s career OPS+ is higher than ARods, after this year…
(they were equal through age-33 (145), Arod took the lead last year, and now Berk is 2 points up, 146-144).

it has to be a small enough market, with a new enough team, and low enough attendance. Orioles are an old team, Houston’s a giant market, I can’t see the Nats going anywhere….

picturing an MLB stadium with no seats
giant plexiglass windows, with 10,000 slot machines facing the field- some with “bet on the outcome of this PA” buttons. Park factors (+) of about 125 in the day, 75 at night. Unseen scorpions stopping play by randomly stinging batters/players/umpires/squirrels.
Other than that, what could possibly go wrong?

that game was a grind
i don’t know how long it was but it seemed forever from the 5th inning on.
tigers last three releivers were amaziong and im glad benoit didn’t get burned in the 7th with two infield singles…one which could have been an out. He looked like he lost all his confidence and he got it back good for him and avila to work the 7th and 8th.
And thank god jeter didn’t hit the pop fly out. Do the yankees play on a softball field?
Also, the changeup to russel martin was right down the middle in the 8th and was called a ball. benoit had two throw 4 strikes to get him out.

poking around on The Good Phight
found this nugget….he’s talking about the Phillies lineup.
3-5 in the order is a combined 10-46 with 1 extra base hit, (Howards HR in game 1) 3 BB and 8 K’s. Victorino hasn’t walked or struck out in the series.
thats a .217/.265/.326 line.
6-8 is 5-34 with 1 Extra base hit (Rauls bomb in game 1.) 0 BB 9 K’s.
thats a .147/.147/.264 line.
collectively, 3-8 is hitting .187/.216/.262 on the series. with 3 BB and 17K’s.
Rollins and Utley?
.517/.588/.827 that slugging is correct, with ZERO HR’s. 1.415 OPS with 6 2B, 1 3B, 4 BB and 3 K’s
Utley and Rollins have 1 RBI COMBINED in the series.
