I don't think even game seven of the 2006 NLCS is as awesome as this game
Because I’ve never felt so many lows to go with some many awesome highs in the same game before.

Which is pretty crazy
The way I jumped up and cheered at both the Yadi homer and the Waino strikeout, I didn’t think anything would top that any time soon.
Ceterum censeo La Russa ire necesse est.
it's gotta be close
but that was a road game so I guess it’s kind of apples/oranges. The Curveball vs. Freese walkoff to the batters eye….I dunno, it’s tough.

But yeah, this one takes the cake, as Berkman said, as far as I’m concerned.

Unbelievable game. Had the entire bar chanting for most of the game. So down. Then so up. And then down. And then sooooo up.
I’m hoarse and loving every minute of it.
I spent most of the game at a bar heavily cheering for the Rangers
I decided ‘fuck this’ around when the rangers got their second go-ahead run, and an idiot rangers frat boy fan decided to just chant ‘baseball’. Watched the rest of the game at a coffee shop that randomly had the game on. Ended up randomly running into someone else from the St. Louis area.

Ibb’s are part of the game. TLR was right to IBB Napoli earlier.
Totally different from removing a player from the game.
They say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger...
Sorry,
I wasn’t cheering for injuries at all, I was just saying that I’m not as concerned about “the best team” being on the field. You work really hard to get AROUND that during the game (see: Washington, Ron, IBB of Albert Pujols in 10thn inning), so why get upset when it happens by chance?
"I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order. Like they should be."
And Napoli had their second-worst hitter in the lineup behind him

I’ve watched the Rangers my entire life. I’ve watched the meaningless September games for many years. I watched a rotation with guys like Kameron Loe and Ryan Drese in it. I’ve waited all my life to watch the Rangers hoist the World Series Trophy….and they were one strike away…..twice. It feels like my heart has been torn out of my chest. Although I know there’s a Game 7, it just feels over. I’m hoping that the Cards’s worn down bullpen will help. Anyways, you guys have a hell of a team, and this will be a hell of a series.

A Baptist goes into the bar thru the backdoor while the Catholic goes thru the front.

someone here at VEB made between the regular season and the WS. This game defines September. We make a promising return. But, in the end, we make one last, effort to win

I would throw out Carp for, say, 40 pitches
and have EJax and Lohse both in the pen on similar pitch counts. Hopefully they can get us through 6 or 7 innings and then turn the ball over to the pen. My slight concern is that Motte, Rzep, Salas, Lynn and Dotel all pitched last night and all threw quite a few pitches (Motte, Salas and Lynn especially) but I suppose Texas are in the same boat. I’d definitely be happy to throw EJax out of the pen for 1-2 innings, though. He hits 95mph as a starter so presumably on a short leash he can get closer to 100.

Jackson is the best hitting pitcher
So he was going to hit. When it turned into a bunt situation, TLR switched to his better bunter, Lohse.
Um, that game was so exciting I cannot believe I actually went. Field box seats, 16th row, exactly even with 1st base.
So, apparently Jim Edmonds was at the game tonight
How many great ex-Cards were present? Coleman, Eckstein, Ozzie, Stan, Gibson, Brock, Schoendienst, McGwire, Edmonds. Amazing. Any more?
I'm not sure any of them even qualify as "good"

So, uhh, scary story guys.
We heard glass shatterting in my house and upon investigation we discovered a shattered glass pallet and a bullethole in the glass door of my parents’ bathroom. Now we don’t know where the bullet came from and we couldn’t find the bullet. All i know is that probably one of my neighbors wasn’t happy about my screaming and might have shown his anger by firing at the house. Or it could just be a lost bullet from far away. All I know is that I love my country and it is the most beautiful place in earth. But, hell, it gets violent here. A lot.

Once Berkman hit the single I knew it was over.
You can’t give an offense like the Cardinals that many chances and expect them not to make you pay for it. The bottom line is all our bullpen had to do was get 3 outs. 3. Twice. And it would have been over. And they couldn’t do it.

It's probably for the best.
Now that I’ve got some beer in me I’m good, but right after the game I was pretty upset. Most people over there don’t come down so quickly. And don’t get the wrong impression of us. I’m sure some of you that have come out to DFW were treated well by our fanbase because that’s just kind of how we are. But yeah, right after the games emotions run pretty high and people are probably not going to take it very well. And it sucks because you guys are awesome over here, one of the better communities I’ve come across on SBN really. But the difference is you guys have been there before. You guys have gotten to experience it (some of you several times probably), and we’re still waiting. So when stuff like this happens it’s just kinda tough and people will be more apt to fly off the handle I guess.

Does anyone know
where I can re-watch or download the game, cause I’m obviously not sleeping till Saturday.
MLB Network should be airing a semi-condensed version of the game tomorrow morningish
I’d check their website for the schedule first thing tomorrow, to get the exact time.
i found VEB's new official drink
well at least my new official drink. someone go here & tell me if it’s as amazing as it sounds

They just don’t die
They’re like the villains in horror movies. You can shoot them, stab them, decapitate them, throw them out a 40th story window, burn them, drown them, but OH NO, THEY’RE STILL FREAKING ALIVE!!!!
I should be given some sort of award for not cursing, because I haven’t been this furious since they won in 2006.

yikes, that's an ugly thread
someone make a note of this so that next time we have a world series thread and a rival is involved we can make sure it doesn’t sound like this.
it's a possibility
we probably wouldn’t have the “freese should die in a car accident” posts, or at least one of the mods would delete them asap, but we’re not immune to grabbing pitchforks and shouting about things.
ya but VEB's pitchforks & shouting's are still not one directed at a rival
who’s playing while we’re sitting on the couch. when the brew crew or reds or flubs won recently we didn’t do that towards them
Balls
Yeah
But did any of them go to the WS? I actually can’t remember. I mean, let’s face it – our rivals just aren’t very good.
I guess Houston in 2005. But that’s it, really.
I suspect disgruntlement
but no pitchforks unless TLR is involved.

I just got home from the game
Not a bad game to go to for my 1st 2011 game. Did others think it was pretty exciting as well?
I still cannot believe that game.
Unreal. Really. Like something out of a video game. Best baseballl game I have ever seen without a doubt.
And I apologize, VEB. I was getting pretty frustrsted with Holliday earlier and said some things about him leaving with a bruised finger that were unwarranted.

I'm on the west coast so,
This is after most of you are passed out (as I will be as well soon)… I’ve been a baseball fanatic since the mid 80’s and this was the best baseball game I have ever watched (and worst considering the early defensive miscues.) But still, most exciting game I’ve ever watched. I went nuts at the bar tonight here in San Francisco. And I wasn’t alone – this city has adopted the cardinals. Don’t know how it happened, but this is a Cardinals town suddenly. Game 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Hollywood Reporter giving game 6 some love
i find it surprising how many entertainers were into baseball. it’s not usually their thing. the nfl&nba are way more flashy, hip, whatever you call it. they usually overlook our baseball. it’s good though some are tweeting about it. hopefully that means more watching Game 7 & we can put a end to the low ratings talk

I'm not sure whose departure was sadder
Vince or Jack Clark. Really, the way the core of the team was broken up kind of sucked. Sure, we kept Ozzie, but what did we get for Willie McGee? Felix Jose? Stan Royer?
Well, it might not be
When you go to sleep and wake up, you could actually be a robot that has been given false memories, including game 6.
For all we know, the Cubs actually won the world series, but a bunch of aliens were so offended by this (being good aliens), they swept down on Earth, put everyone to sleep, and have implanted false memories giving the Cardinals an implausible victory
Completely lost this in the whole game...

I'm not going to lie
When Freese was down to his last strike against Feliz, I had little doubt about the outcome. Even when he hit that ball, I thought Cruz would catch it for sure.
When Hamilton hit that HR, I thought there was no way the Cards come back to tie it, they don’t have another one in them.
When Berkman was down to his last strike, I thought for sure that was it.
Moral of the story – Unless the Rangers do the Double Tap on the Zombie Cardinals, never, ever, count them out.
