I’m not sure the guy in the middle IS Tony La Russa. The other two really did have some snappy answers. I think I’m going with #1 myself.

I totally get where you're coming from
if it makes you feel any better, its hard to sweep those three games in the middle (although it worked for us in ’06) and even if we do come home down 3-2, if the home team wins Game 6, its been very very difficult historically for the visiting team to come back and win Game 7 (although, again, it worked for us in ’06).
i agree, and i think i've said this before. 2-3-2 is not nearly the advantage that 2-2-1-1-1 is

If the Zombie Cardinals win ...
Do they get reanimated? They’ll clearly have eternal life.

I prefer not to invoke apocalyptic outcomes

They become Immortals
Kinda like Highlander, but without the beheadings.
Sigh.

And so it goes in St. Louis.
This is a city that had trouble giving away tickets for the Papal Mass.

but that's not how it goes at Busch
we outdraw the majority of teams in baseball, while comprising one of the smaller markets. I’m sure attendance will be fine come game time.

if they served beer and the Pope had Carp’s charisma.

They had great coffee!
And Big Mac!
But, seriously, downtown was virtually deserted because everyone thought that it would be a complete zoo and stayed home.

No, you're right. It'll be fine.
There’s something about these big events that freaks some people out. They don’t want to deal with the extra BS that comes with it, so they stay home.
As was said downthread, the author’s reasoning for the price drop is likely flawed. Or, at least, incomplete.

Bad weather my ass.
I just landed at Lambert. Looks fine to me. When I went to game 3 in Denver in ’07, that was was bad weather. Snowed a little before the game. It was like 25 degrees. This is perfect baseball weather. For a World Series. Game 1. In St. Louis. Enjoy!

well thats a load of crap.
Tickets everywhere start going down the day of a game. Scalpers are just worried they won’t be able to unload their tickets.
Piss off Tony, get shipped to Canada.

SRO have been pretty stable +/- $200...its all the actual seats starting to fall
but it is normal like you just stated.
500 tickets sold in the last hour and a half on stub hub.
And I think a lot of people have “If they make me an offer I can’t refuse, I’ll sell, otherwise I’m going” tickets on stub hub.

any time you can add Misty May's husband to your playoff roster you gotta do it
also, what happened to Koji Uehara. that dude was really good, and then wasn’t.

SSS happened
That was a pretty bad move by the Rangers.
He’s the same pitcher he was earlier this year.
Don't say hi to me.
he had nothing in the ALCS at all
i saw both of his appearances, and there was no life to anything. not saying it isn’t SSS- just an observation.

Two things:
1) how in the hell has Texas not played a game in St. Louis?! How long has interleafue been in play?
2) I’m digging Fox’s punk/rock cover of “Meet Me in St. Louis” to open the pre-game
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
