Ya, I'd like to see that happen over and over again

Jaime did very well on MLBN post-game interview
Didn’t seem pouty, all about the team, when Tony took me out I knew the bullpen would take care of the game.

Just learned the downside to a playoff beard
I knocked the cherry off my cigarette and went to relight it. Caught me beard on fire.

So, I'm probably rehashing this,
But to hear hr, tlr is the only reason that the cards are where they are, and up 3-2.
Is he Tony’s agent?

typical hr over-enthusiastic exaggeration
not to take anything away from TLR’s work this postseason. He’s like the 10th player.

to be honest
VEB’s bitching about La Russa index is at a 5-year low at the moment….he deserves at least a slice of the credit. I mean, he started Schumaker in CF against Halladay and he fucked the toaster drove in the winning run of the NLDS.

Hummel has a nice piece on Punto
He has started four post-season games, and the Cards have won each one.

A great pic.
It was posted a day or two ago, but I don’t think anyone will get tired of it.
It’s actually for a few months ago, right? Opening Day, maybe?

That double he hit was a screamer.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen a hitter that can just obliterate a ball like he can.

definitely was taking better swings
The tendinitis thing apparently messed up his mechanics. In the postgame he mentioned feeling like he’d gotten some timing back in BP today.
I think Smoltz (mighta been Darling) mentioned on the broadcast that he would pitch Holliday inside to see if he could turn on a pitch, and indeed they pitched Holliday inside his first two ABs and got him out both times…in his third AB (5th inning, 2 out, Pujols on 2nd) Greinke went away and he got a single….in his next AB vs. Loe, the first pitch was inside and he singled….in his last AB in the 8th, Estrada went in, in, in, away, in and Holliday doubled.
So yeah, maybe it’s okay to be optimistic about Holliday’s health.

Damn the Tigers might actually win that series if they can get it to 7
Groundball Fister against the Bronson Arroyo of the AL in Colby Lewis in game 7. Go MAD MAX tomorrow
they need insane games from both of those two guys if they're going to have a chance
their offense is banged up and their bullpen looks vulnerable….
"No, it seems to me that Wednesday night isn’t what makes baseball great. It’s all the years you spend waiting for Wednesday night that makes baseball great."--Posnanski
Fister I think has it in him
dunno about Scherzer. Maybe.
"No, it seems to me that Wednesday night isn’t what makes baseball great. It’s all the years you spend waiting for Wednesday night that makes baseball great."--Posnanski
Sherzer's been good lately. He's a flyball guy but he can run it up in the mid 90's.
He had a pretty good start in game 2 there. Holland is no sure thing either, dude is all over the place. He could throw a 2 hitter tomorrow or be out in the 2nd inning. Neither would surprise me.
Arlington is not kind to flyball pitchers....just saying
fair point about Holland.
I dunno, but it seems to me that if they can get it to Fister then they’re maybe slightly favored in that game 7.
"No, it seems to me that Wednesday night isn’t what makes baseball great. It’s all the years you spend waiting for Wednesday night that makes baseball great."--Posnanski
indeed
flyball-ers in that park is suicide. that’s why the game 7 match up would really favor them, lewis is a disaster at home while fister keeps it on the ground.
but yeah, sherzer is not exactly lights out, but he’s got the skills to pitch a good game.
Hello VEB
I realize that you haven’t heard from me in awhile. Well, perhaps you have because I have been posting here and there just to cheer my team on as they attack these playoffs with such a ferocity that they are causing me to come to a greater understanding of myself. Right now I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. There is a girl in my arms and i am writing this with my phone on top of her. I have so many things to say that I have no idea how to say them. Everything I am doing now seems to take on a greater importance than itself. I am high on mushrooms and do not care if anyone feels that this is ridiculously self-centered or even solipsistic. It took me forever to think of the word solipsism but I felt like I needed to. Her phone keeps vibrating but I think she is asleep now. The Cardinals are winning. My hand is up her shirt and sort of caressing her back. It seems unlikely that I will ever reach this point again. I realize now that she is not asleep but only pretending to be. I might show this to her later. My battery is running out and I need to plug my phone in. The Cardinals are winning. I am taking care to punctuate properly (somewhat). I am glancing up to take in this whole post. I had to leave the room for a moment to ask my roommate for a charger. I just highlighted this whole post and hit copy. There, I did it again. The Cardinals are winning. I am sort of tempted to give you all more spicy details about what happened tonight. The word spicy is ridiculous. Albert Pujols is ridiculous. I am going to go out and keep enjoying this night. I’m so excited to hit post. Fuck it, I’m just going to hit post. It didn’t let me post that time because the site is too fucking busy. The Cardinals are winning.
