honestly, what is going on with flopez? is he hurt?

he hasn’t played in forever. i really feel like we could go on a run in august if our lineup could not include feliz and miles on a daily basis.

schu, jay, pujols, holliday, raz, lopez, molina, ryan, pitcher (or pitcher, ryan)

or how about greene, jay, pujols holliday, raz, lopez molina, ryan, pitcher

OR schu jay pujols holliday rasmus greene molina feliz pitcher

so many options…none of them are happening.

Floppy’s been struggling as of late and i think TLR wants to see if grittiness can save the situation

at least Colby is starting (for now)

honestly I'm glad flopez isn't starting

I hope he’s not hurt, but I feel that he’s more valuable off the bench than a starting infielder. My question is why Boog isn’t starting.

Also, IMO, feliz > lopez at 3b.

feliz is better than lopez at 3rd, yes, but does feliz need to start EVERY day?

and also, yeah, like d-dee said, if boog isn’t playing SS, and greene isn’t up here, you really have to have floppy there instead of miles.

IMO, feliz 3B + Miles SS < flopez 3B + boog SS OR feliz 3B + flopez SS

and yeah, flopez has been struggling, but schu and boog struggled for like 4 months each. flopez is a better hitter, and should be going forward, then schu, ryan, or feliz.

Miles at SS does not make any sense.

Well it is Wednesday, the first day of the month, and a day game, and Miles got a walk in the 9th last night so in SSS universe maybe that means something to Tony.

Lopez can be much worse going forward

his August line is .141/.269/.218/.487
I’d venture to say that he never fully recovered from his arm injury.
And he looked terrible (worse than Miles terrible) the last two times at shortstop.

Why start Miles when T. Greene is better and younger? It is ridiculous and makes no sense.

I like Feliz, honestly, because he has shown that he can play defense at third, unlike any other healthy cardinal infielder at the moment. I believe that Feliz 3B and boog SS is the most optimal solution right now. One could argue that Lopez is a better hitter than Feliz, but Lopez’s defense is terrible, even at SS or 2B. So he should come in the later innings pinch hitting

Off to the game

To think that when I bought the tickets a week ago, Jaime Garcia was scheduled to start. Instead I get to see Suppan (I also saw him stink for my only other live MLB game this year) and Miles at shortstop.

Any suggestions for explaining that to my kids? I guess since this will be their 1st game, I won’t feel bad missing the action at least.
