Here, I'll make it possible to read this.
I have written this poem because
it’s more to me than a bat and a glove
for the hope that Red Bird players and fans alike
stand high above
For all the consuming things
that have brought so much shame
And bringing dishonor
to this wonderful game
Sports in general have gotten so nasty
doesn’t it seem?
Heartbreaking with the awful way
things have gotten to be
Where is it written
you have the right to talk and act so unprofessionally?
When it’s the fans that make a way
for you to earn an easy living you see.
We have risen from the low class comments
that was made From a person
who’s last series
surely didn’t make the grade
He said The Cardinal’s have been known
to always complain
And we have one question for you
and we’ll make it plain
How does it feel now being kicked
in your Cincinnati britches
for calling us names
like a bunch of “little Bitches”
You Ohio boys have been shown
how to play the game
And when we meet you in St. Louis
you’ll get more of the same
It won’t be pretty
for all the red you will see
Because we plan to sweep from you
the next three.
The Cards need to use
their new found baseball fire
Following their ever wanting
heart’s desire
Playing like a Cardinal
filled with dignity we fans hold so dear
and win the World Series
for all of us this year!

I liked it
I also thought the second half or so was the better part, it seemed to start flowing easily. Only point is two errors in “who’s last series
surely didn’t make the grade
He said The Cardinal’s have been known”
who’s → whose
Cardinal’s → Cardinals
Very interesting indeed
A very interesting poem indeed.
Written whilst holding a brief division lead.
But since the time
you wrote this rhyme
reality’s been so unkind.
Series losses
to Cubs, Brewers and Pirates colossus’s?
The lead you held has been undermined.
Instead of coasting to another crown,
the premature celebration’s been turned upside down.
From four behind enjoy the chase
and if you come up short please lose with grace.
Or if you’d prefer just pout and whine
while making excuses one final time.

Cardinal Fan
For all of you who make fun of St. Louis falling behind in this year’s race. Don’t feel bad, for us Cardinal fans stick by our team win or loose. We love the game for the game and how it is played. We don’t measure a good year on whether we win the World Series or fall short. I have been a life long Cards fan my entire life event hough I lived 53 of those 57 years in the Chicago area. I can tell you there isn’t a worse bunch of looser players or fans than the ones that live in Chicago and are Cub fans. I’ve very seldom ever been at Wrigley field that I didn’t have beer thrown all over me or listened to cursing that would curl a sailors hair. Cards live forever! Unlike most teams there will be a next year for us. No whinning here just pride.
