Well.

Guess Wallace is gonna be starting at 1b for the Strohkers. Ironic considering they didn’t want us to have Oswalt and now they have our number 1 pick we tried to send to siberia/oakland.

Also how much does Ed Wade suck? The word is that the Yanks took on minimal salary and gave up less than top prospects.

There is an article coming up on THT with some good info on Wallace

Long story short, he’s now an average at best first baseman who hasn’t hit in nearly 1000 plate appearances in AAA. If he were to be in the majors with his current numbers he would be replacement level.

That’s awesome. I’ll have to check it all out. I underestimated Big Boi after Speakerboxxx (which I didn’t really like) but that song is sweet.

"Very accomplished bunter" - Rick Horton about Aaron Miles

by jd is legend on Jul 30, 2010 10:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm probably overrating it a bit. Outkast was one of the first groups I loved.

Andre might have a better nose for a pop song, but I’ve always though Big Boi was the better rapper. How I Got Over is probably the only other hip-hop album that compete with Big Boi’s album as far as this year is concerned.

by AWolfAtTheDoor on Jul 30, 2010 10:09 PM EDT up reply actions

That's a fair point

The Love Below is one of my favorite albums, and it’s definitely more poppy than Speakerboxxx (separating them for argument’s sake).

"Very accomplished bunter" - Rick Horton about Aaron Miles

But, I like The Roots Phrenology more than any Outkast album.

by Mulliganstew on Jul 30, 2010 10:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I always thought SB/TLB would have been as good as the earlier albums,

if they had just cut all the shit off of it. The Love Below is probably the better of the two.

The Roots are one of the few hip-hop artists that I like more than Outkast. I’m splitting hairs at this point, but Game Theory is probably my favorite album by the two. Both groups are great though, and neither really released a bad album.

by AWolfAtTheDoor on Jul 30, 2010 10:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Wilson Ramos, the guy behind Joe Mauer

Was a top 50-ish guy in BA, and they have no depth at the C position anyway.

Their staff is going to be really sick with 2 aces in Zimmerman and Strasburg anyway, and if they can trade Dunn for something decent, they could be a team to watch.

Regardless of how good the throw was

It sure seems like we’ve made tons of outs on the bases lately, and it’s really annoying. It’s just one more little thing that is making this team hard to watch since the winning streak.

Albert Pujols does not have "down" years. He has "~6 WAR" years.

Absolutely

It’s like, we make boneheaded decisions, and we pay for it. Then we make good decisions and execute well, and we still pay for it. Argh.

yeah

I’m still not totally convinced he was out, cause I didn’t really see a slo-mo replay, but that was a Yadi-esque throw. I dunno anything about Kratz, but I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t make that throw 3 times in 10.
