The Unofficial Cardinals Stirrups Petition

Quick edit: I will name this the "unofficial" petition only because I do not speak for VEB nor do I want to endorse myself as an official agent of the site.

Yes, you are reading my Headline correctly. I, just like many of you, love when our Redbirds wear those old fashioned red striped stirrups. Of course we think of Brad Penny, Brendan Ryan, and as of tonights game, Skip Schumaker as the poster boys for the socks, but some of our other favorites look good in them too!

Remember back to the good ol' days of Rick Ankiel demolishing hitters in those beautiful red socks? Anthony Reyes pitching us towards a world series in the historical stirrups? Maybe even you recall Yadi wearing the prized socks earlier in his career?

Obviously the entire team would not wear them, as it is a matter of personal preference, but we can at least try to get more and more players to join in wearing the red striped stirrup socks, right? Even 3 or 4 more players would make this team look great! (Not that they don't aready...).

So please join me, my fellow VEBer's in signing this petition to get more Cardinals to wear those awesome, kick ass, retro, sexy, iconic red socks/stirrups~

i'd be happy if they just did it once for the year

because that’s the most we could hope for. the players could have fun with it, and the org could make it a promotion – stirrup giveaway day. that should probably happen every year, to keep the tradition alive, and i don’t know why it hasn’t. maybe we need a petition for that, and then forward it to the marketing department.

I agree

Wearing the pants all the way down is really not appropriate in my opinion. I think since the socks are a part of the uniform, they should be visible.
