boy, so the cards offense has been pathetic, right?

well, if the astros were a single player, he would have a difficult time finding a job in mlb. in 557 PA’s, John Q. Astro has a line of .237/.269/.325, with 22BB and 6HR.

The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. I got a little too inebriated, ended up passing out under a pool table (don’t ask how, I couldn’t tell you). Woke up the next morning, and had the usual hangover effects, except the side of my face was killing me. Realized sometime later that day someone was probably playing pool and kicked me in the face overnight.

In football, the object is for the quarterback, otherwise known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his recievers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use the shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! "I hope I'll be safe at home!"

eh i don't know about that

certainly the potential for chapman is there, his fastball is electric. darvish has very good command and feel for his secondary pitches(which he has about 3 or 4 more than chapman), he’s been pitching against relatively better competition while his int’l track record is roughly equivalent. chapman, even in the cuban leagues, didn’t have the best numbers and was seen by many as inconsistent. i just think darvish’s track record, his stuff, and his potential to be even better(assuming the workload hasn’t destroyed his elbow) puts him far above chapman who i see as far more raw.

“If you look at the difference in the game, our guys were patient and ran Matt’s pitch count up and they were swinging first and second pitch.”

So it seems like our approach is correct, the results just haven’t been there that last few games. Especially adapting a new approach after being taught to be super aggressive the last few years, I can give our guys a break for the first few weeks.

yeah but I always wondered how much of the CO

inflation was due to the fact that you were running an infield out there that had Andres Galaraga, and Vinny Castilla at the corners with an outfield of Bichette, Burks, and Walker. Other than Walker and maybe Galaraga that is a bad defensive group with plus power a recipe for runs if I ever saw one.

Yeah, they hate us or some reason. We dont really care about them, but we make fun of Purple Row and True Blue LA a lot. And yeah, Velez is not popular among the McCoven, but a lot of casual Giants fans love him for some reason. Hes is terrifying in the outfield, and even more so at second base. He never walks, and he is the slowest fast person in the game. He is quick, but he is slow getting out of the batters box, gets bad jumps to ball, and gets bad jumps on the basepaths. He has a little bit of pop, but we have trouble understanding why we kept him over Fred Lewis.

i find a couple of the snakepit guys pretty funny

guess they are the eelbombers – they hung out here when we played, and one was banned for accidentally bombing his own site – that jim is something else. anyway, they bombed the yanks site when hughes had the no-no going, and i enjoy anything aimed at the yanks – they were all wondering, “what’s up with these eels?”

you guys have a witty gang. purple row i only checked out briefly since we haven’t played them yet – maybe a little puritan there.

dodgers and padres – haven’t ventured.

our division not all that interesting, site-wise, what with the pirates and brewers and astros being somewhat lame, imo. the reds site is pretty good though, and then there’s bleed cubbie blue and the indomitable al yellon – pretty ridiculous stuff, but it can brighten your day.

that's a rosy, yet incomplete, depiction of said scenario, though

because we would then have to pay someone else. to equal his production, we would have to (some combination of) pay/give up a lot (if this player exists), or we go in-house and have a huge drop-off in production from greene or gotay. hey, who knows, maybe we can get lugo back for the o’s ptbnl.

Lost our statistically best bullpen guy.
