Daryl Jones Traded to Yankees for Venditte

This just in, hot off the presses. Please check out the following link. Apparently the Yankees and Cardinals have come to a deal, where the Redbirds send Daryl Jones to New York, for Pat Venditte, the wunderkind who throws both right and left handed. We now officially have the world's first SWOOGY (switch throwing right AND left handed reliever). Is everyone excited?

I love that guy.

He played in the CICL (a college league mostly throughout Illinois) for the Quincy Gems, so I got to see him pitch a couple times. It’s pretty awesome to see.

custom glove

He has to have a custom glove, since he’s obviously able to switch-pitch and therefore would have to switch gloves every time he switches throwing arm.

It’s goofy looking. I wish I had gotten a chance to see the glove up close.

why?

i’d love to see tony have this weapon. and when dunc asks for pitch count, he’d hear something like “13 and 9”. and some days tony would say, “venditte’s only available from the left side tonite – he threw a lot of pitches righty last night.” of course i don’t know if he’s any good or just a novelty, but i also don’t know about jones, other than he’s likely to be traded at some point.
