[Riggleman] was very flowery in his praise in Jayson on and off the field. He feels, like I feel, Jayson's best days haven't been had yet. ... I've been a fan of his lineage and his family.

I was going to say this in the other thread but then I saw we got overflowed

so let me come right out and say it: zombies are my least favorite pop-culture monster/creature. They’re just so boring.

by DanUpBaby on Dec 6, 2010 2:29 AM EST reply actions

SO boring.

They’re just so dumb. They’re also crazy disgusting with the rotting skin and eating of brains and all that. On the other hand, I kind of appreciate that it’s still very, very clear that you don’t want to become one (as opposed to vamps).

by peach concrete on Dec 6, 2010 2:33 AM EST up reply actions

I think zombies just click with some people, probably a psycological thing about it being you againt society or a large group of people.

so you'd want to be a vampire? because i wouldn't

i’d want to be something with no weaknesses, not being able to go out into the sun & having to watch out for every stray tree branch killing me would get old really fast

by gdm426 on Dec 6, 2010 2:35 AM EST up reply actions

oh, NO, I don't want to be a vampire - I do retain my mental faculties

I’m just saying that (and please, lord, let this not elicit any painful twilight quotes) pop culture has done a lot to make becoming a vampire appealing. No one’s trying to make zombies attractive (except Ed Helms).

by peach concrete on Dec 6, 2010 2:40 AM EST up reply actions

yeah vampires are more...romantic than others or whatever

but they have always been that way, Lugosi had charm ect
and so did Dracula in the book IIRC

(granted nosferatu did not however)

Best Simpsons episode ever

is Last Exit to Springfield. It’s undisputed. Season 4 and season 5 were the best seasons of comedic television to ever air. Also undisputed.

Separate Vocations is also great

So is the Otto Show. Basically all of seasons 3 and 4 are gold.

I have to say that the comment by JStark made me think of the "buy now" button on ebay.

That's the one. Immediately followed by buyer's remorse.

TLR quote in P-D: Berkman bats 5th/4th

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_594a7a04-f8da-5ab9-bf2f-3ad4cfda3596.html

La Russa played down suggestions that Berkman may hit near the top of the batting order. Instead, La Russa believes Berkman a more natural fit as protection for Pujols and cleanup bat Matt Holliday.

“I believe he fits you best in the middle,” La Russa said. “I really believe we just got deeper in the middle of our order. You talk about a track record hitter in the middle and he’s got it. I’d put him in the top five or six in the league. I see him hitting fourth if Matt doesn’t play, fifth if he does.”
