that gif reminds rod stewart of a funny story . . . .
"We were men - flesh and blood - and we played baseball in the sunshine. We hit doubles off the wall, slid hard into second base. We had fights, and we made love. We sang songs and prayed on Sundays. . . . We felt pain. And we felt joy. There was a lot wrong with the world. But we weren't sad, man. We had the times of our lives." Augenstein?
It looks like the guy’s got some upside, 7.5 SO/9, 2.6 BB/9,0.9 HR/9, but he gave up 12.1 H/9. No wonder he had an ERA of 6.69. That is a shit-ton of hits to give up.

I'd believe it if he hadn't given up 10 H/9 in 09 AA.
But yes, it’s worth giving the kid a shot. It was the PCL and maybe he had some crappy D behind him.

isn't the aaa franchise for az in like the worst
Park for pitchers ever? Are they las vegas? The isotopes stadium is awful, too, but I think that’s the dodgers affiliate.

for HR's, maybe one-of, but not "the"...
Not sure what the park factors say, but after playing softball in Lancaster, CA, for ~4 years, I can’t picture there being a worse place to put a minor league team. Alternatively, antelope valley, CA has to be undoubtedly the funnest stadium to watch MLB-quality talent flounder in.
LV might be top-ten, but there’s nothing like seeing the 2B call the CF off on a pop-up and watching the pitcher try to catch it on the infield 15 seconds later, because the 60-mph wind decided to gust the other way for ten seconds.
That, or see the second baseman say “i’ve got it” on a ball that ended up being a home run. because the wind didn’t ungust.

The list of changes that have happened to the world since 1908 is staggering.
There was still an Ottoman empire for crying out loud. America was still talking about the Spanish American War. They hadn’t started building the Titanic yet.
Albert Pujols does not have "down" years. He has "~6 WAR" years.
It's hard to imagine any era in human history that changed so much over a 100 year period.
To an adult in 1908, the world today would be prohibitively foreign, to the point where it would be nigh impossible to adapt. You certainly can’t say the same about someone going from 1400 to 1500.

Did anyone mention the Surprise Rafters game today?
Kozma went 1-4 with a triple and a pair of strikeouts.
Chambers went 1-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
Cruz went 0-5 with a pair of strikeouts.
The Rafters lost 7-4
