ted was originally supposed to be the center of the show
but the realized early on, Barney makes the show. anyway, the creators say they won’t change him or Robin. but i don’t see how they can’t. the premier was good, here’s hoping they can keep that momentum up.

A Few Words
Now that things have settled down a bit and the game is over, I’d like to expand on my views concerning the “debacle” earlier as it seems at least some of you haven’t taken me at my word. It became quickly and forcefully obvious to me that some people took offense to my choice of words when describing my feelings regarding the Astros. At the time I felt the reaction was completely out of proportion with the offense. My view has not since changed. I apologize for my inability to clearly articulate my point while under bombardment. I would still like to apologize to anyone I offended. Offense was not my intent. I also recognize within different communities, there are different norms and to maintain a civil, participating membership within such communities, the relevant norms should be acknowledged and adhered to. I do not feel I am above these rules; I already tone down my personality in a number of ways to avoid myself from standing out in this community. If I continue to interact with this community, I will adjust accordingly.
Using it lightly belittles the experience many people have gone through. Someone on here or even someone simply reading this may have experienced this and you have just belittled their experience, an experience they have probably done a lot of work trying to get past.

Someone can “blurt out” something online, and I have seen it devolve in so many ways, in so many contexts. But as long as there is a POST button and we are (mostly) adults, that’s like saying just because BCB does it, everybody can do it.
It’s not a matter of “how something can be construed as offensive.” It’s a matter of the community saying, hey, that’s not okay here, and then continually ignoring the community, for quite some time. And it’s not some nebulous abstract — on the internet, social formats have to be programmed. If you wanna let it fly without reservations, there are private twitter accounts and blog accounts that are programmed to allow personal stomping grounds. SBN is not programmed to be that.
I appreciate that prophetjohn is thinking twice about it, and took the time to write out his side of things. There are a lot of communities where that would devolve into an ugly scrum, and I’m relieved that VEB isn’t one of those places.

I was the first one to respond – not by saying " you can’t say that you sexist jerk." I just asked if the word “rape” could be used only in its basic meaning.you replied " you know what I mean". Then yadi2second said “still not cool” and you replied “lol.”
That kind of lit things off.honestly, you got several very polite responses which you blew off. Not surprisingly, people got mad and frustrated.at that point, a lot of people piled on, yes.
but I and others understand that different people have personal proclivities toward dark humor.if you’d said “ok, sorry,” nothing would have happened. But you missed several chances to do that before the piling on.

PLUS, there’s generally not a good side to rape. Meaning, I’d rather not think of the Cardinals’ winning ways yesterday as rape.
When people usually use that hyperbole, they’re referring to some situation when they’re getting screwed severely, not when they’re the one doing the screwing.

Honestly,
I said what I need to say and I said how I felt. If that’s not good enough for any of you, so be it. I’ve decided to stay out the whole lolcat, boooog, photoshop etc type of game thread discussions. Since that seems to be primarily the crowd I offended, I should be okay sticking to baseball-only discussion.

So I finally caught up with last night's Mad Men
After hearing references to how good it was, I was curious to see what the fuss was about.
