OVERFLOW

ST. LOUIS (AP) St. Louis Cardinals’ Albert Pujols(notes) poses for photo with his imaginary friend Dan Haren in the dugout during the sixth inning of a baseball game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in St. Louis.

nice
and sad
"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."

I don't think he was
looking at her like that. I also think it’s important to note the white nightgown. It connects to the first episode this season.

They playoffs will as always be a crapshoot
but the last 2 months of this regular season is going to be quite memorable.
Man this team is fun to watch.

How's that going to work, exactly?
Well, I'm from Texas and my mama taught me to not piss all over myself.
They're tearing it up
9-1 in last 10 games. Won their past five. Arguably four very solid starters. Ridiculous amount of talent through the lineup.
But I bet they cool off a little. When you’re leading your division by 10.5 games, hard to stay motivated.

Seriously, the FSMW wardrobe for the post-game guys...
Ricky and Pat: Sir, we need a sponsor for our Wii bowling league.
FSMW Executive: Guys, we just don’t have it in the budget.
Ricky and Pat: But sir, we need shirts in order to be in the league.
FSMW Executive: I’ve got it! We sponsor your Wii bowling team, put the FSMW logo on the shirts, AND you guys can wear them on the post-game show. That way, we can claim them as uniform expense on our taxes! It’s a win-win.
Ricky: Great, I’ll wear the shirt without an undershirt and make sure to leave the top 3 buttons unbuttoned!
Pat: Yes! Your chest hair will increase the sex appeal of the post-game breakdown.

Tomorrow afternoon is set up perfectly for
Smoltz to pitch 6 and then Thompson and Hawksworth to finish it off (assuming there is no save situation). Miller should also pitch tomorrow too at some point.
McClellan could pitch too.
I assume Motte and Reyes are probably unavailable.

The stats would say that Carpenter didn't have his best night...
Only 9 swinging strikes.
102 pitches, 63 strikes.
According to pitchFX, he only had 1 swinging strike on his curveball.
Pretty decent amount of pitches in the middle of the strikezone too.

Uggla doesn't like Hanley Ramirez Contract
“You don’t get the same respect from teammates when you’re not playing,” he said. “I got people upset when I got out of the game last night. I try to do the best I can. Whatever.”
Ramirez repeated some of the same comments later about teammates, and Uggla overheard at his locker about 10 feet away and said: “I was one of them.”
The two exchanged words. And at one point, Uggla said: “Yeah, you got your $70 million” and went on to use an expletive while asking him why he had to come out of the game.
Wow. With the media there and all.
